"Why Are You Copying Me?" Effective Use of Reflection in Child Centered Play Therapy

Friday March 13th 2026
1pm-4pm PST

Reflection is often described as “mirroring,” yet many therapists struggle with how to reflect without sounding mechanical, intrusive, or repetitive. This training explores reflection as a relational, regulating, and meaning-making intervention in Child Centered Play Therapy.

Using demonstration, practice, and clinical examples, participants will learn how to move beyond surface-level reflections and use reflection in ways that deepen safety, attunement, and therapeutic presence without interpretation, questioning, or adult-centered meaning.

This training is designed for play therapists, clinicians in training, school-based therapists, and caregivers wishing to learn more about how to use reflection.
